    About Alexandra The Great 48

    Burlesque Hall of Fame Performer

A member of the Burlesque Hall of Fame, Alexandra The Great 48 had an era-defining career that extended through the ’60s and early ’70s, and included headline engagements in theaters and supper clubs worldwide. Coming up in the New York entertainment scene, Alexandra The Great 48 gained initial acclaim as a competition-winning, Sofia Loren lookalike.

Accepting modeling positions and performing as Brandy Alexander, she came under the wing of well-established burlesque star Rose La Rose and learned what it took to capture an audience’s imagination for an entire performance. She changed her stage name due to the popularity of the film classic Alexander the Great and the fact that another performer was already using her name.

The burlesque star fully came into her own in Australia, where she gained adulation in top-tier clubs and theaters. Over a six-year period she coordinated elaborate musical performances that included live bands and dynamic elements such as dancing fountains.

Even after she took her last bow, the model did not slow down, as she gained a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most capable beauticians. She also developed her own line of skin care and beauty products that reflected her passion for youth and enjoying life to the fullest.
